I have been using WAZE for a while now and, except for the absence of a split screen junction view, I am finding it very good, even better than a regular GPS system.

Maps are Google maps, very updated. Traffic information is already there, no need for antenna ou monthly fees.

We can give feedback instantly, by pressing a couple of buttons. I am starting to wonder why I should keep using regular GPS, except, of course, for JCV.

Please meet the Focus on Turns feature!

What is Focus on Turns?

When turning left or right, Waze will display more of the route ahead of you, by moving the car from the center of the map to the side. It will also change to 2D mode when approaching the turn, making navigation easier.

How to Save Waze Map Offline?

Waze is a community-based, feature-rich, powerful app that featured with real-time traffic, road alert, accidents, etc. Unfortunately, Waze is not offering any built-in feature to save the Waze map offline. Theoretically, Waze needs an internet connection to work fully functional. But there is some workaround to get an offline copy of the Map on Waze app.

If you want to get a Waze map offline, you have to open Waze application on your smartphone ahead with your WiFi or data connection and enter the address you want to go. Once the routing is completed, Waze will keep this map details in the cache (offline). You can use this Offline Waze version to drive later. Let’s see how to save a Waze Offline map for your next trip.

1: Open Waze App on Android or iPhone.
2: Make sure you have connected to WiFi.
+ This applies only for a new address.
3: Type the address in the search bar and tap on Serach
4: Pick the right address from the populated result.
5: Tap on GO
6: Wait until Waze calculate the route
7: Tap on GO NOW button to get the route.

Waze offline Map Android

That’s all. Waze will calculate the best possible route and cache the address details on your phone memory. Now you can turn off data plan on your mobile. Waze will be still in action and able to route you from the cache memory.

An uncensored version of Waze with the following improvements over the official version:
- displaying the exact location of stationary or mobile speed cameras.
- enlarged speed limit sign for better readability
- Audible radar warning regardless of speed (only in case of speeding with official version)
- Custom map skin with black background to save battery and improve readability
- Selection of new voices compared to the official one
version - Vanessa (not changed),
- Morgan (voice of Cars, it's pretty cool), if you prefer Morgan's real voice, delete the folder in waze/sound/French
- Svenska (French voice acting, enhanced sound),
- Srpski (Star Wars voice, 1st voice after English dubbing).
- transparent gray pointer button (instead of the solid orange circle in the official version) for greater readability of the map and avoiding the “burn-in” effect on the AMOLED screen
- ability to signal bad or no limit by clicking on the speedometer and then selecting "report" (option not available in the official version)
- range of announcement of changed controls compared to the official version:
- motorway 1500 m
- Motorways 1200 m
- Roads 1000 m
