In Nextgen to change the image quoted in the previous post "modelviewerbg" if you are using skin (pongo) search the folder
the_skin_by_pongo/ui_nextgen/res/the_bright--the_color--the_dark/nodpi//bg_modelviewer_landscape and bg_modelviewer_portrait
If you make a new image it will have to be in svg
