To make Garmin functional we have to use GarminCure3 for dnx7x20_dnx8x20_270 with Updater_exe.

Put module in pre boot mode and connecting the module to the PC.
Garmin will be recognized by PC just so in Device Manager:

Now you need to format the internal memory in FAT32 with RMPrepUSB.

Now you must put back original backup of internal memory with all files and folders.

We have to do updates with the software to version "Original dnx7x20_dnx8x20_270 with Updater_exe.rar"

Reassemble everything back after you have finished doing an update to the latest version of the original software.
On an SD card formatted in FAT32 with RMPrepUSB put firmware update DNX7X20_DNX8X20_280 original and unchanged.

Installation Instructions
1.Create a 'garmin' folder on an SD data card (must be at least 16mb space available on the card).
2.Download the appropriate self-extracting archive file onto your hard drive.
3.Run the downloaded executable file.
4.Click on Browse and select the SD card reader in the list, then select the 'garmin' folder.
5.Click Unzip to save the files onto the 'garmin' directory on the SD card.
6.Wait for the message that the update was unzipped successfully and close the updater.
7.Safely remove SD card from PC.
8.Insert SD card into Kenwood Navigation System. If there is already a card there, temporarily remove it.
9.Your Kenwood Navigation System will ask if you would like to update software. Answer 'Yes'.
10.The update will begin. Do not power off unit while the update is in progress. When finished you can verify the update by checking the version number in Menu->Settings->About->Software.
11.Remove SD card.
P.S. Many photos are from Recovery the module navigation Kenwood DNX9260BT, but the steps are similar and the software is original for Kenwood DNX7220.
You can connect only the GPS module to USB port in Pre Boot mode, without the mount gps module back in the unit Kenwood.
Do not use this software for other models.
This software is only for models DNX7X20 and DNX8X20
