They're good robust basic units and it'll still be running great in another 10 yrs if you look after it. Latest fw for 2x5 is V7.60, in March 2012: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Unlikely we'll see any further updates now but the firmware development is quite mature now and i doubt there's any bug yet left unsquashed by Garmin for the 2x5/W series. If you're still running earlier fw you should update, with v7.60 you'll get the second map name 'gmapsup1.img' in Garmin folder of SD card and some other tweaks and minor fixes.
