I've had no luck with Naviextras either, in fact I found them rather arrogant to deal with, 2 devices I bought came with legit Primo software & free map upgrades etc. etc. but I ended up deleting the original software because I couldn't get any satisfaction or help from them updating the maps using a Linux operating system.
Navig[8]r CE devices run their navigation software from a folder named MobileNavigator & the executable inside this folder named MobileNavigator.exe.
So you can either do what Kikindos has mentioned above, which is essentially adding a shell that launches when you tap the navigation button, where you set your own shortcut to start any software you've added, great for having multiple programs to choose from if you so desire.
Or if you only want to run the one program you can simply replace the original software with one of the versions from the iGO section here, where you can also get newer maps, poi's etc..
Rename the folder from whatever it is called to MobileNavigator and the exe inside the folder to MobileNavigator.exe, then when you tap the navigation icon the new program you've put on should run.
Make sure you backup all your original software before you make any changes, just in case.
