Default TOMTOM VIA 1500TM Not connecting with Tomtom Home 2 or does not show as storage device.

Recently I bought one TOMTOM VIA 1500TM. I tried to update it using TOMTOM HOME, but the device is not connecting with Tomtom home. Home cannot see the device. Also my computer does not recognize it as storage drive. Is this normal for this model? But the device power on ok.

    I see it uses
    Code:

to login and update. Why tomtom home or my computer does not recognize this model.

On the other hand my tomtom XXL works with tomtom home and shows as storage device.

The Via series cannot connect to Home. You must use Mytomtom. You will have neither control of nor access to the file system. A windows PC will recognize a Via unit as a network connection and not as a storage device.

There are dedicated thread in the forum for the matter too.
If you just bought it, a simple look in the manual or onto the DVD would have solveld your problem...
