I fancied a change of voice for our Garmin Nuvi.
I found a site selling Celebrity voices and after listening to the Morgan Freeman clip I purchased it.
I was sent an email to the download link and downloaded the rar.file.
When I unzipped it and copied into the voices folder on the satnav, it wouldn't work. So back to the site where I found hidden away were instructions as to how to download the file.
I needed the satnav connected to the PC and a free piece of Garmin software running then click the download link to have it installed, by the garmin software.
So with every thing in place back to the download. It wouldn't let me download it again. If the instructions had been on the front of the site I'd have followed them to start with but they are pretty much hidden away, until you search.
After emailing the site a couple of times I've had no response from them.
I do have a way of unlocking the file so it will work, if I can find out the FID number (Family) along with the Product ID number.
I don't suppose anyone here has downloaded the file and knows the numbers?
I'll try another email to the site that sold it but I won't be holding my breath at all.
Thanks

Ok Thanks Cathy appreciate it.
How did you manage to find the FID and PID. I spent hoursssssss last night trying and couldn't.
When extracted, the file MorganGV.zip yields not only the locked Morgan_Celebrity_Voices.vpm but also English_Stuart.vpm which appears to be unlocked. However it doesn't seem to work fully, e.g. when approaching a roundabout he says: 'At roundabout...' only. In the roundabout itself, he'll say 'Exit roundabout', but in either case does not give the exit number. He doesn't seem to give advance notice of upcoming right or left turns either, only says 'In 300 metres...'. Just before the turn itself, he will say 'Turn right' though. Not too concerned about it as it's a slightly annoying pommie accent, just wondering why it was included in the zip file and if anybody knows what's wrong with it. Maybe its the actual voice of Stuart J. Smith who does the voices for celebrityvoices.co.uk?:
The 'Morgan' celebrity voice on the other hand works fine. But I have to say that the impressionist responsible for it (Mr Smith, i presume) has managed to capture all of the annoying aspects of Morgan Freeman's actual voice, and not too many of its redeeming features. But anyway that's the comedy purpose of 'cartooning' in both it's visual and aural guises. I suspect the same bloke could do an Obama voice without too much effort. Oh, well ... y'get wot y'pay for...lol!
