Garmin, how much is 30 pieces of silver for Judas today? Were they worthy for crucifix of GPSPower?
I wrote to Garmin support regarding if it is possible to move G2S and DB files on SD card because my Nuvi 3760T main memory is almost full
They replied to me as follows:
Dear .......,
Thank you for contacting Garmin Europe.
I am happy to help. The files which you mention would need to stay on
the device and would not work on a SD card. I would recommend removing
some different files from the device to clear up space on your device.
Please find below information on doing this.
1. Plug your unit into the computer
2. When the unit is connected, please click on ?start? icon at the
bottom left hand corner of your computer screen
3. Then you will need to click on My Computer or Computer
4. You should then see a file in here called Garmin Nuvi drive. Please
open this file
5. You will then be looking for a Voice, Text and Help
folder. Please can you remove all of the information from these folders
but make sure to keep hold of the languages that you need. Once done,
this should then clear a fair amount of space from your device.
You can move any kind of *img in sd in Map folder for example timezone map, 3Dbuilding map or gmapdem map or even the gmapprom.img to free some space in internal memory-
You have to navigate to get to the good.

Thanks Giomen. Both Caty & I said they would work and I told aajuno to do as Roger suggested and try it (then see firsthand if works in sd). See Post 62 for what Garmin answered when asked. In part:

this is more closer look at the file on my gps
and I am upgrading to CN EUROPE NTU 2013.30 and CN Middle East & N. Africa NT 2013.40
I am trying to take the advise for removing files from my nuvi 3760T system file and putting the updated files on sd
my original map that came with the device are CN EUROPE NTU 2012.10 and CN Middle East & N. Africa NT 2012.10
I will change both to latest version to 2013
My question is which file to delete that belong to the old version[Only registered and activated users can see links. ][Only registered and activated users can see links. ][Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
1-as you can see the .dp and G2S and GMAPTZ.img files which one I can delete and replace with the new one
2- for the map files also I guess for the map gmapbmap.img is a must it is base map but the others gmapprom.gma and gmapprom1.gma should they be deleted and replce it with the new ones
3- files gmapprom.gma gmapprom.unl gmapprom.sum should I leave them as they are or delete them
Kindly advise
I found a folder in GPS directory in .System named rxn. Inside eph,poly and seed folders.
I think these are Ephemeris prediction related.
This rxn directory probably have something to do with this:
I remember a Giomen's post about it ,but I cant find it now.Code:Please Login or Register to see the links

Hi.
although nobody, except myself in my mind, asked this matter here, I like to share the result of the digging, because this Great Forum gave me all the fragments I needed, and since I had quite a job to gather all the info about mapfilenames for zumo 550, my ancient gps-compass with wildly winding needle...
I humbly hope this gives help for some other lonely rider with multiple maps...
ZUMO 550 inventory:
SD:
Suppmap = gmapsupp.img
ZUMO device:
Suppmap1 = gmapsupp.img
Suppmap = gmapsup2.img
PROM = gmapprom.img
Dir DB = gmapoem.img (not selectable...)
bye, f
