There was a 'so called' 2x0W which is in fact a 2x5W for all intents and purposes with HWID of 0827 and it runs 2x5W fw which is traffic capable, whereas the 'real' 2x0W series has HWID of 0737 and isn't traffic capable. Some years ago, for reasons not obvious to us mere mortals the Gods @ Garmin unleashed the 2x5W guts in a 2x0W case for a short time [i think in the northern summer of 2009] and confusion has reigned ever since. Makes as much sense as naming the stripped down nuvifone G60 as nuvi 295W which makes ppl think it's part of the nuvi 2x5W range when it's not.
Short answer: You cannot make a HWID 0737 2xxW traffic capable without some serious under-the-hood firmware manipulation which quite frankly isn't worth the effort for a $30 device even assuming that it's possible to do [and it's probably not anyway]. Further, because HWID 0737 and 0827 units have differing PCB P/Ns it it not possible to cross-flash their firmwares.
