Thanks for that Loly. Nice program too, as is HxD recommend by kanopus. I've now tried the 310 file from Caty in several different hex editors/viewers and the result is always the same. Where the PCB PNs should be i get this:
. . flush_map> flushing %u map pages, lock %u, gen %u to page %u, sver %u ? Ì *s 575-
and obviously i should see something like this:
? . \ . * . . . . . s . . . 105-00968-00.105-00968-S0.105-XXXXX-XX
I'm using Win 8 but i've also tried it on a different PC running Win 7 with same result. Here's the file in XVI32 and Portable UltraEdit32 compared to Caty's HexCmp:
In post #38 there is a screenshot of my original file open in HexCmp as well.
The views above are of the same file uploaded to ZippyShare by Caty and the MD5 is B779E001286E0CF7B04248CAC57B0CD2 which matches my original file in any case. Do you mind checking the hash on your original file please Caty?
Can anyone explain how can there be differences in it's content when the same file is viewed in the same programs?
