i have a problem i cant find my .system after a reset it and i was trying to use xyplorer and it dont see my Garmin
and my other question can i restore all my saved locations?
During the weekend, I've benchmarked 3760 vs 3490 FW for GPS precision during navigation. With open sky and full signal, 3760 has an accuracy ranging between 5-9 meters. In the same conditions and itinerary, 3490 FW accuracy was much worse: 15 - 30 meters. My unit is equipped with PBC V8.
Such "low" accuracy makes GPS navigation very unreliable. For the moment, I will stay 3460 FW + TurboCCC patch for 3790 features hoping for future development to improve the situation.

Rodrigo

Go to trip computer and in hiden menu in MTP set to mass storage, save settings and restart nuvi.
I'm struggling to understand the traffic trends after the 3490 conversion.
I'm of the understanding that part of the trend files is now stored in the SID folder (The G2S folder no longer being required). If that is the case, why do we still need the DB file (D317400.db) in the SQLite folder. Note, I tried deleting this file and lost the traffic trends on the installed maps section.
The confusion gets worse as D317400.db does not seem to be bundles with 2012.40 Unicode which I believe the 3490 uses?
Hi, after downgrading from "3490" to 3760 + 3790 extensions, the system is in a kind of mixed configuration even if I cleared non vol stats after firmware installation.
Specifically, my unit uses "3490" layout during navigation mode: blue color bar for next destination (instead of green), speed limit red circle (instead of white square). I like a lot this kind of layout and I would like to maintain it in the future.
Does anybody know where this layout configuration is stored? My idea is to back it up and reinstall in case default 3760 layout appears again in a future FW upgrade.

Rodrigo
Speed limit in circle not square from US firmware??
Interesting ! Could you please capture the circle to show for us ?:Animatedi74:
( circle is for Asian firmware as I known).
Blue bar and circle speed limit is for European locales. You can change it by choosing language after reset.
Kanopus, thanks for the reply. Do you know if the locale and navigation layout can be changed after first satellite fix?
I finally received my new 3790LMT and upgraded it to 3490 specs. All went well thanks to all the information gathered into this thread, it was very easy.
I was really concerned about the accuracy of the Satellites after reading that several people had problems.
Well, I have a PCB v11 and the accuracy was 3 meters with the 3790 and now it is 4 meters with the 3490. Both were upgraded to the latest software.
Not sure if I like the 3790 or 3490 better. But since I upgraded to the 3490, the GPS crashed a couple of times...
