    Angry Street Pilot 2610

I have one of these excellent units. I also have a Nuvi 750. I like the old Street pilot much better. Now I find out that Garmin in its wisdom has made my Street Pilot 2610 obsolete. The new NT map format will no longer work on the 2610. What a stupid thing for Garmin to do. What were they thinking about? These units were sold until just recently in Thailand for 39,000 Thai baht, more than $1,200 US dollars. I didn't buy mine in Thailand but the people that did must be absolutely furious.

    Hi Gary,

I absolutely agree with You, but their primary occupation is how to earn more money and selling new units is one way.

That's why I'm preparing list of latest Non NT maps that could be used in units which don't support NT maps but many people are using this units.

List should be completed (most of it) in few days and should be part of already existing map index.

Nt maps are compressed and some gps can't process NT maps
The device itself "decompress" the image parts, that it can display the streets and informations.
An older device cannot decompress these parts anymore fast enough.
    you can use reverse converter
MapReverseConverter (MapSource 6.13.7 included) all languages here
    Code:
Please Login or Register to see the links
I'll post on our forum now coz not already posted

You'll find some non Nt maps in this forum

    Re TOPO Sweden.
I installed one (of 5 sets) set and indeed get the TOPO maps in Mapsource, although they look different from displayed on the swedish garmin website.
No green forests etc., only elevation lines etc.
I have the five files but can only register one at the same time. When I register a next one it replaces the link in the register (checked) and I do not see a difference in Mapsource.

    Regards,

    Hans

    winrar
    go to the map directory
    execute setup
    do full install

do the same for the other three.
    to unlock
utilities>manage map products>unlock regions>add> four 25 different unlock codes you created with keygen
this is an old style mapset garminunlocker works fine

    gotaland----------------------- id=798
    mellersta och sodra morrlad id=796
    norra norrlad ------------------id=779
    svealad ------------------------id=797

mapsource will install it either into a sd card or your gps main memory

use mapsource to merge the maps

when you select a map group (gotaland) and its all yellow and in the left hand box---
then select the other 3 the same way---untill you see 100 maps 1265.8 in the lower left box--then export to your sd card.

europe maps will need to be deselected when you view these maps--an autoroute will overlay a map covering the same area.
