No. 1xxx cannot use SID files which are for 2012> premium devices only. Also 1xxx doesn't have the firmware function to enable its use of the pre-compiled TrafficTrends file D315600.db which has been unchanged for some years btw, so it you don't have it already in your sqlite folder then that's definitive.

It's much easier to for you to search the readily available tuts rather than post for info: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Scroll down to 'About Garmin Files&Folders&Addition files'. Have a look, there's probably a lot more there in tuts index to bring you up to speed on your device too.

    Thank you Neil!

It's a "Garmin nüvi 2595", so the functions are already available!

I just want to know, if i can use the "SID"- and "SQLite"-files from the big "City Navigator North America NT 2017.10"-map with the small "Canada-only"-map...

My apologies! I confused you with another user with an earlier device. Yes, of course, you're correct that the SID and SQLite files are not dependent on using the full NA mapping data [like the ASR voice command files are so dependent] and will work fine in your 2595 with CAN only map.

But navigation will also work on "Canada-only"-map without adding this additional files?

Yes, navigation will work just fine when using only a part of a detail map, like Canada instead of the full NA map. Ancillary files are only used to support additional features. Some of those files require the full map in order to work properly.

I have a Nuvi 2597 LMT that has Europe 2017.10 All NTU installed as the main map when I bought it (has been updated to 2017.10).

I have followed the tutorial and have got the CNNANT2017.10 All installed on the SD Card and it is in the \SD Card\Garmin folder. It seems to work fine.

I have read through the forum tutorials but I still am unclear on which additional files my Nuvi2597 can use and in what folder structure of the SD Card I should put them in.

    1. Which of the following additional files can my NUVI 2597 use and what folder or folders on the SD Card should I put them?

    2. Does the 3dmap and Truckdown need to be unlocked?

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    1. 3D Map

2597 uses the same ASR, SID, SQLite files as 3490> [that is the ones it's capable of using, it can't use 3D map] and it uses SID rather than G2S files. i.e. For JCV: Either of the splitscreen 212 x 324 pixel picture size JCV [but not the one for nuvi40/android]. I'm not sure why you've got ASR under SQLite in [5.], they're unrelated and ASR/SRX map files go either in device:\.System\ASR or SD:\Garmin\ASR [.SRD language files must remain in device however]. TruckDown must be unlocked and go in POI folder either device or SD. Leave SQLite folder on device only ...blah,blah.

All the info you've requested is actually quite freely available in the forum, check the tuts index again.

    OK thanks for the info.

I know that the tutorials are there but when I try and go through them they are a bit confusing and contradictory for me.

After your answer and more investigation of the additional files; for my basic use, I will not use the following:

    Truckdown
    3D Map
    G2S
    Foursquare

    I will use the following:

    SD:\Garmin\JVC\D3192190A.jvc – Splitscreen 212*234
    SD:\Garmin\ASR\05FBOB**.asr (4 files) and 05FBOBUO.srx
    SD:\Garmin\SID\D2656210A.sid - External Point Addressing
    SD:\Garmin\SID\D3157190A.sid - InstaSearch
    SD:\Garmin\SID\D3398180A.sid - Fast Routing
    SD:\Garmin\SID\D3406180A.sid - Traffic Trends v3

    NUVI:\.System\SQLite\D31560.db

Am I correct on these files and folder locations?
