I see the problem now. You can't 'import' image files to the computer HDD itself as such. BaseCamp & HomePort can use them if they are already loaded to a unit which is connected to the PC, or similarly on a connected media card or USB flash drive [x:\Garmin\*.img], or on a virtual SD in Garmin folder: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Agggghhhh! Don't treat a Garmin img file that way. It's a Garmin proprietary file format, not a 'normal' img file at all. Don't do anything with it after decompressing it, only unlock it. If you don't have a Garmin device, just put the *.img file [name it gmapsupp.img, that ALWAYS works] in a Garmin folder on a card, usb stick or virtual SD as i said.

Sadly, many of the links on the file-server sites are now dead, enough to prevent a full RAR set. At best, I was able to get all but parts 2, 3, & 9 from one of the FileFactory sets, the one by ozboss in post #5. If anyone could help with those parts or with a full unlocked set, it would be, well, helpful.
Why not try openmapchest website
This is part of the openstreet maps.
Maps are free
Spoiler: Australia and New Zealand
I use openstreet topo maps for years I find them more detailed and are updated all the time.
Spoiler: I quote them:

V6 has been out for some time. It unlocks like any other.
A few days ago, a HEMA Australia map was released both with Garmin Topo V6 included, and as a standalone raster map.
I don’t suppose that one can be copied without a CID changeable card (it definitely can be copied that way). It’s a set of 54 jnx files, and HEMA POIs.
Interestingly, the HEMA raster map has an img file called “HEMA single point map”, which is nothing but one rectangle border, and one point called “Australia”.
Hi
All links are down. Can you reupload?
Thanks
