It's unusual but it happens. A while back a US user intending to travel to AU for a driving holiday experienced that with a MI compiled image used in simulation in his US purchased nuvi 3580. I couldn't duplicate the error at the same location on the same route using a very similar AU 3590LM, same map version but an original image downloaded from the Garmin server by MapUpdater. When he loaded the original image from my 3590 it worked fine in his 3580. I suspected a rare glitch in the gmap folder at the time. I believe you should download the original locked image 10 rar parts from ZippyShare in Post #2 here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Unlock the extracted IMG using [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Please report if it works ok then.

I think is a FW problem, I've tested with Open Map Chest, in New York works fine, but in LA get exactly same freezing at the same corner
You can go back to previous firmware.

It probably had V7.60 on it before, issued in Oct 2012. V7.70 and V7.80 were issued in July and Sept last year. Both HWID 1091 [MediaTek chip] and HWID 0827 Versions are still available on Perry site, but make sure you get the right one so [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] first.
I do have some earlier versions for HWID 0827, however i think you'll find if V7.60 doesn't help the problem an even earlier version won't fix it either. This is how to downgrade: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] or you can do it in preboot with an RGN file after removing GUPDATE.GCD from Garmin folder if present.Code:Please Login or Register to see the links
