I do not understand the big deal with name change.

The main thing is you were able to change the Drivesmart 51 to dezl 580.

I assume this is for your personal use, so the name does not matter. Now if you are trying to sell this that is another story and in the AD you need to place that info in it that it has been converted from a Drivesmart 51 to dezl 580.

But that is just my opinion.

The more important thing that you were about to convert it successfully, so enjoy it now.

To be clear I do not care one bit what a user does to their GPS Unit.

You are not the only one that has converted a GPS Unit.
It seems the same question comes up each time someone converters a unit and wants it to reflect the name change.

Some of these newer units it is impossible to do that to do without bricking them. You can quote me all you want I have no problems with that.

You should have quoted "spoon1" remarks after my post.

When you look at all the post over all the forums it is always the same problems that need all kinds of help over and over again.
A lot of users have no idea what they are doing. I am not saying that about you at all.

What I am saying is for any user that was able to convert a GPS unit well done.

But trying to change the name after converting then you are just asking for bigger problems that any user should stay away from.

If you take offense to that telling a user to be very careful so be it.
