I own a TomTom Rider 500 which i have been trying to get TomTom to help me restore after the map update it downloaded via wifi while connected to a power supply got stuck at 8% for 2 full days and will now not restore using the MyDrive Connect software. TomTom KEEP telling me to power cycle the device by soft resetting it (i.e. hold the power button until the drum beats then release) result didn't work, back to square one. Also hold the power until the BIOS screen appears then press the power button 3 times until the recorvery mode is activated then connect to PC and let the MyDrive Connect software restore the device - result - both the device and the MyDrive Connect software just repeatedly crash and cycle around in circles doing nothing to help get the device back functioning properly.

Does anyone know how to fix this - I have seen droves of other users on the TomTom Discussions pages that have had the exact same issue as me and TomTom are less than useless in helping us - so far no one has found a solution and I can not get TomTom to even discuss with me via email the possibility of a free of charge repair by sending the device back to them for investigation.

Surely TomTom could find a better software solution than the totally useless MyDrive Connect software!!

Any help would be hugely appreciated as I have had the device for years and it has never put a foot wrong until the Official TomTom update KILLED IT!

Thanks,

Dave
