I have three questions:
1) In the fist part of this post I read: "IT'S NOT REVERSIBLE (YOU CANNOT GO BACK OLD VERSION". Which in my opinion means that after upgrading my TT-RIDER whith bootloader 5.5012 to version 5.5120 its not possible to reinstall the original bootloader 5.5012
However further on in this post I Read that using bootloader 0.0001 .... "Very usefull bootloader to restore an original bootloader". Which in my vision means that after upgrading my TT-RIDERs bootloader from 5.5012 to 5.5120 I can use 0.0001 and then reinstall version 5.012.
Which vision is correct?
2) Is there a possibility to backup the original bootloader?
3) In this post I read: "please update the BL before to use the SD > 2GB". Does this mean that after insertion of an >2Gb-card in my TT-RIDER (with the original bootloader 5.5012 which does not support >2Gb-cards) it will be imposible in the future to upgrade my original bootloader 5.5012 to version 5.5120 in order to enable >2Gb SDHC-cards?
Looking forward to your awnsers
Changing bootloaders CAN be dangerous & irreversible.
However, if all you need to do is use anSDHC card in you Rider you're safe to use my method here [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
Remember:- DO NOT just add this bootloader system file to your SDHC card and expect it to run. You MUST first load it to your original SD card or internal memory and start your device. THEN it can read SDHC's.

Thans BIGGERDAVE for your reaction.
However .... you did'nt awnser my three questions. Now I still hesitate to upgrade my bootloader. So I would apreciate more respons to my questions.
Basically you can/should stick with the 5.5120. Once that bootloader is in your internal memory it can only ever be up, not, downgraded (unless you're a gambler AND really DO understand what you're doing).
You cannot "backup" your bootloader although you could "save" the system file to your desktop but that doesn't mean you can roll back to it.
As has been said, playing with bootloaders is dangerous so if you don't know what you're doing, forget it!

Simple said : as long as you have no UBS transfer problems leave the BL alone and remove any "system" file from installations before you start![]()

What BL do I need for a Carminat?
tia Henk
Hi ... thanks, it works for me well. Before I had higher version of bootloader 5.5229. Now I have following configuration:
Tom Tom One v3
App 9.450.890926
(2008, 3/21/2012)
32 MB RAM (free: 11:3 MB)
GPS v1.20,
Boot 5.5128
Map: Europe_885_4055
My problem is different and bootloader version do not solved it; initialy I thought is an issue with display "driver" after I updated from Navcore 7.903 (BootLoaderVersion=50500) to 8.560 (BootLoaderVersion=55229) my display looks like I have "interlaced" resolution setup (one horizontal line visible, next one is not visible, third line visible ... and so forth).
Its anybody on this forum with similar issue?
-Nope...
Try the TT clear flash tool 3 times.
If still the same open your TT and disconnect the battery for 15 minutes.
Check again, if you are lucky one of two will help, if not you might have a faulty device.
