If you know all that ??? why do you not share all that with us ?????? and post the Files ??
To make Traffic work in Australia, u need to replace 5 files.
2 files are in the first folder when u open Tomtom in Windows Explorer. The file names are mctx DAT File and mctx Text Document.
3 files are in the folder with the name of the map, for me the folder's called Australia_945_6176. The file names are tmccodes DAT File and traffic DAT File and traffic.inc INC File. The file names aren't case sensitive.
You need to get an old Tomtom GPS and copy all 5 files, then paste to your new GPS (replacing and deleting the existing files). I don't know the eact date Tomtom turned off traffic, maybe around 2009 (the old files I use are 2009 and 2010). So u need to find files from around 2009.
However I know its almost impossible to find an old tomtom GPS to copy those 5 files.....but I think you can easily download them, by downloading an old Navcore (which is what they call the operating system files) and downloading an old maps. The first 2 files will be in any old Tomtom Navcore. The next 3 files will be in any old Tomtom map.
Remember if u have a rds/tmc tomtom, u need the above 5 files and u also need a charging cable that is a charger and a traffic aerial, not just the basic charger (maybe some gps units had the aerial built into the unit, I don't know). I think the Tomtom RDS/TMC aerial is the same all around the world, it uses FM radio stations to get data. I bought mine on ebay for A$25. One thing I leant is the cable works better if it has its own power/cigarette lighter. If u use a double adaptor for the power source, it messes up the signal and slows down the traffic data speed.
In Australia the main company that broadcasts traffic information over the FM radio is called Suna. Tomtom used to sell their gps units with lifetime access to Suna traffic. Then a few years ago Tomtom stopped providing access to Suna, but the old gps units still have their lifetime access. That's why u need to get the 5 files from an old tomtom gps or an old Navcore and old map.

how do I post the files ?
Easy, upload them to Zippyshare and post here the links
Just to add to this, firstly put all 5 files into a new folder called "OZ RDS" or similar, then zip/compress/winrar this folder THEN upload it to Zippyshare or similar (or, as I reckon this will be small enough (under 14Mb) just hit Go Advanced below then Manage Attachments/Add files/Upload which will basically attach your .rar/.zip to you new post
Please do not post "thanks" but use the "reputation" star(*) bottom/left or "like" bottom/left buttonsS i m p l e s
PS If you find any dead links on MY posts please pm me & I'll try to fix/reload
