Sorry the above link opens up to the section off the forum with speed cameras etc but where will I find the latest cameras available to download for the tomtom app on my android phone ? Is there an easy guide to install them ? I know how to install the cameras on my regular tomtom sat nav in conjunction with fastactivate etc but just a bit confused where to find the cameras for android and how to load them on ?
Thanks
You will need a data connection to get updated speedcams and traffic.
See link:
Spoiler: link
- Lifetime TomTom Traffic: Always drive with real-time traffic information for the lifetime of your app*
- Lifetime Safety Cameras: Avoid speeding fines with accurate and timely speed warnings for the lifetime of your app*
* Checkfor availability per country. Services require a cell phone connection.Spoiler: link
I think most if not all GPS app will go this way with online speedcams.
The cost of roaming will change this year and in 2017 across the EU the roaming cost will be the same as in you home country.
As it stands already the cost for getting speedcam and traffic updates with a data connection is not at all costly anyway to begin with.

Okay thanks I will be able to get the fixed cameras without a data connection thou yep ?
No you can't get the fixed cameras without a data connection in Tomtom Go Mobile app.
Turn on 3G/4G (or wifi), then start Tomtom Go and plan a route.
The app is going to download fixed cameras, but only those "along your planned route".
Then you can turn off you data connection and start your trip.
Fixed cameras are downloaded only when you plan a route and only the necessary fixed cameras for this route.
Okay with you now thanks. the only thing that does confuse me is why there are downloads for the latest cameras files available on this site ?
I think if you take your time and read the different types of TomTom apps and Stand alone GPS units you will get a better picture of all of this.
There is a lot of info here and you need to take the time to read most of it.
Then you will have a clearer picture of what is needed if you are using TomTomGO v1.8.2 or TomTom v1.4 the older app and the stand alone TOMTOM GPS units.
That way you would not be so confuse over things.
Anyway have a nice day........
