Hey.
This happened when I executed the patcher:

Whats wrong?
I have installed Basecamp after bying Zumo 350LM (Lifetime Maps) but I like to "test" Recreational Map of Europe in my device before maybe bying it.. Thats why I thought I need to patch my Basecamp to be able putting the Recr.map into Basecamp.
But it ended up this way.. Hmm..

read the thread, this matter has been discussed already and solved

Could this be a firewall/antivirus/ISP issue at my end (possibly related to the (spurious) virus mentioned earlier in the thread?)?
Zippyshare has worked well for everything else today, just not for this.

file is clean , you can disable it for a moment or download patched .exe from Basecamp thread and replace it in Basecamp directory

Thanks catymag - the specific Basecamp patch downloaded fine. No idea why the other links didn't work for me.
Just the multiple Topo issue to resolve now.........

This patcher is not working on Windows v8.1

And unfortunately you don't seem to be able to register the comdlg32.ocx either in Windows 8.1 X64
EDIT: The instructions found at post [Only registered and activated users can see links. Click Here To Register...]-Post#20.
Still working fine for Windows 8.1 X64

Patching the MapInstall 4.0.4 executable with the patcher results in a error being generated about MapInstall not being able to communicate with the GPS. This error repeats a second time, and then crashes MapInstall, with Garmin requesting a bug report. The patched executable from 4.0.3 works fine with the 4.0.4 .dll files however.

It's a false positive, you can use it np, disable Avast for a moment, download it and run.
We're using it since a year, you can check it at
Code:
https://www.virustotal.com
.
There are only 5 positives on 50 AV and the result is generic/suspicious/possible malware. The truth these antivirus scanners are not reliable because they cant scan inside compressed files. Do this test: uncompress the exe and run again Avast, I bet you wont get any alarm.
Note: don't use it with new Mapinstall because it doesn't work.
