G'day Marine. Been having a chat with all ya mates while i've been catching z's i see ...
I didn't mean for you to infer that the 'Exit' icon available in 'Where To?' menu of SG fw with AU/US Locale is the same as 'Exit Services' for later devices in my answers in the other thread:

You could try setting it to different Locales to see if that enables it, sometimes different country settings enable/disable features, e.g. in 765 Singapore will enable travel guide but you lose exit icon in 'Where To?' menu. In my nuvi 3597 setting locale as UK or Luxembourg etc will enable an audible over-speed alert which isn't available for US or AU for instance. Have a play around, numerous hard-reset won't hurt it.
It's often a 'tradeoff' for features when you cross-flash firmware. "Garmin giveth and Garmin taketh away".
The Exit icon isn't available to US fw [nor is there anything in it's place]. It's definitely not in the menu either for SG fw with location set to SG [but you get the Travel Guide icon in it's place].

(ii) I'm sure your assumption is correct that any Garmin online services have been discontinued.
(iii) No, not in 765. Possible in some far more recent units to change Country thru hidden menu behind speedo though.
My comment 'maybe it's the same sort of thing' was musing that it might give similar info for upcoming exits, not that it works in the exact same way. Certainly 'Exit Services' in recent units use the POIs from the map. I think it was introduced with dezl 560 [trucker's unit] and then flowed thru to nuvi units as well:

This is from a dezl 560:
When 'Exit Services' icon pressed, this results:
No additional POI files on board, so it's from the map.
This is 765 running SG set to AU locale on the M1 approaching the same exit:
When 'Exit' icon pressed, only get this:
That's a similar message to the one given for 'Exit Services' when not on a major arterial ['Exit Services are only available on major motorways']. Same map, same route used for both 560 & 765:
So it seems clear that however 'Exit' works in modded 765, it's not using POIs from the map like 'Exit Services' does, so i guess maybe it needs an additional POI file?
