Can truckdown be used on Nuvi 5000?
If yes what features will and will not be available?
All I really care about is being able to safely use my nuvi for routing my big truck.
TruckDown files will work in any Garmin device that can use such POI .gpi files as said in Post #2 and that includes your 5000 which is of course a 'truck specific' model. All it's capable features should be usable, see first post for features.

I realize the previous post is from last year, but I'm getting an error message from my RAR archive program (running on windows 7) that the archive is either corrupt or in unknown format. Has anyone else been able to download and view these archives?
The reported size of the RV_Parks archive on my disk is 2,095,482 bytes.
I just tested all 3 files and all unrar with no problems at all.
The version I have of WinRAR is 6.1.1.
Maybe you need to update your WinRAR.
Here is the link to the latest WinRaR
or use [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], it is open source, compact and extremely efficientCode:Please Login or Register to see the links
