Importing gpx format as POI gpi to Nuvi

How to convert gpx file to POI gpi file and how to export it to Nuvi 1340?
In fact this file is a POI file but with gpx extension, likely just converted to gpx.
How to add alerts when getting close to such poi?

With the POI Loader software or better GPI Creator. With GPI Creator you can set an angle to a POI. But if you are new better start with POI Loader as it is easier.

The GPX files do not need to convert them to CSV,The only difference from CSV...is that they can have some input proximity predefined (or nothing)
Ex:
My file CSV

4.34467,43.83725,"[85439-]","[85439-]"

My file GPX (precompiled...but they can be also as WP without proximity)

When using the poiloader,in manual mode,with the CSV file you have to set a proximity alert or speed
With the GPX has already input from the proximity.

With Poiloader in quick mode ,with the CSV will not be alerted, will become Way-points, not the POIs alerted
With the GPX instead yes (proximity 200mt)

For the procedure to associate a sound alerts:
1) use the sound file Wave or MP3 format (Wave for the ALL Garmin...MP3 only the old device and discontinued...or asian firmware)
2) put the file sox.exe (release 14.0.1 for Win) in the same folder as the file Poiloader.exe (this if use the files Wave)
3) put the three files in to same folder (Ex: Desktop\PL\...) Safety_Camera.csv(or .gpx)....Safety_Camera.bmp (24x24x8)....Safety_Camera.wav (or .MP3)
4) launch the Poiloader....and follow the simple instructions a window . I suggest always to set the manual mode

Thanks for all guides and info. If GPX file content is the same format as GPI, then how to load gpx to GPS?
I copied gpx file to several folders of Garmin, but GPS still didn't show any POI's.
Is there a special folder or file header in order Garmin to load it as POI?

I need it for both Garmins - Nuvi 1340 and Oregon 550.

GPX files and GPI at any location of the nav are copied, will be recognized by OS of nav
While GPI find them in EXTRA,the GPX are WAY-POINTS and you will find them in your favorite
WARNING: Your number will only accept 1000 WP. Delete with master-reset or delete your locations
You want to use the Poiloader, choose alarming speed or proximity,create GPI ,put in folder Poi to nav or SD and find them in EXTRA

Try this my sox.exe: it's very beatifull... And works fine!! Derared and put in folder (tipically for W7) C:\Program Files\Garmin\Poiloader\sox.exe

Nice ! I've added a link back to your Post #7 into Caty's Post #1 in [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. I think the link to GPS Data Team dl for the original sox.exe isn't working (at least not for me, it timed out on 3 attempts) so i've attached the old file there too. Your friend's patched exe is more compatible anyway.

Umm, just noticed that the original sox is 1,712,128 bytes, and yours is only 127,488 bytes .... ? I haven't tried it out yet, when extracted the contents of each exe are quite different. It looks more than a patched or cured version of the original, more like a new file, is that right?
