Well I urge you to use Garmin cause it´s easy and reliable to use, It may not be as cool but it won´t leave you hanging when you least need it.
I looking for software, map and devices on Microsoft Windows Xp and 7 x86/x64 (much more for Win 7 x64). I knowledge is small because I just star sailing and start looking for solutions. On this forum is a lot of cool maps on Garmin but there is some other cool software to navigate on the sea. On this services I found some other software (MaxSea 12) but I can’t install this all stuff (software/keyemulator) on my OS.
Now I use OpenCPN with CMAPv2. Also I try do some configuration to use TV tuner like a AIS receiver in this week I want to test some configuration (SDRSharp+Virtual Audio Cable+AISMon+OpenCPN). If anyone is interested please share information with my and other user.

I agree with the fellow. The Garmin BlueChart is simple and will not fail you.
also recommend the Garmin Bluechart, and so easy to acquire thanks to the many great people here

INSTALATION:
AFTER INSTALLED DO NOT LUNCH IT.
copy the dll maxseaSmartDesktop.dll for keygen directory to mx directory
launch keygen to recover UM code
Launch MX and fill in this UM code
Stop and restart mx. Now it is okay (tested under win7 ultimate 64bits)
Put uc codes directly into ucpool and then open Maxsea.
COPY/PASTE ucpool from KEYGEN directory to C:/ProgramData/MaxSea Int/DATA/MeataCatalog/
to INSTALL maps double click on it
