hi has anyone got a link for a map as my unit messed up got it to work again but its deleted the maps dl comes up in desktop app but dosnt dl need help please

I can only advice and also offer you new unlock menu with iGO Primo 2.4 which is great alternative for original Mio navigation. Unlock menu works completely from SD card, therefore you won't need to modify any files on the internal flash disk.
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
unpack and copy all 4 folders to a SD card. Reset your Mio and it should boot into a new menu..

thankyou for unlock but i still need a map also 685 dosnt have sd

yeah I miss that crucial detail..my bad. Anyway you can unlock it and install iGO to an internal storage. Please, post here content of the appstartupsec.ini file which you can find it in \Program Files\Navman\

Ok, here we go..
download this package and unpack it with winrar:
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
1. make a full backup of your Mio flash disk to your PC
2. copy folder Primo on root of Mio flash disk
3. copy folder PowerButton on root of Mio flash disk
4. replace appstartupsec.ini with your current one inside \Program Files\Navman\
5. reset your device and enjoy with your new toy..
