Firmware Kenwood Garmin DNX7330BT bricked after Failed Firmware update via USB

Yesterday I tried to update the firmware on our DNX7330BT unit. The update failed and as a result the screen remains black when turning on the engine. Once the red triangle reset button is pressed the LED behind it comes on for a few seconds and then goes off again.

Are there any option to fix this issue? Most solutions I found online deal with loose connectors or resoldering / "reflowing" PCB's.

My issue was clearly brought on by the software update , so I can rule out a mechanical fault.

On this forum I found a closed thread in which the OP described a similar problem after a failed update. He was able to solve it by replacing
the "nand memory" but not more information was given.

Does anyone know more about this? Is this "nand memory" the memory chip inside the unit that holds the firmware?

    Any advise is welcome!!!

NAND memory - information that is not so important (NAND). According to the markings on the chip, an adequate one is required.
It is a flash memory chip, programmable, in which enrolled a complete system.

However, this is not a forum of this type, look for answers on a specialized one.

Hello Boki, thanks for your reply. Yes, I am aware that "nand" only denotes a type of memory.
What I was really after is whether the person has replaced the flash memory use to do the initial update which failed or if he has replaced the internal memory inside the unit.

I've spend countless hours googling vor solutions and mainly found cases that had connective issues of some sort.

Hi Asprin, yes that is the file I used when the update failed and caused the unit to become bricked. Bought a new usb drive to try again.
I removed the fuse for the radio before trying again to see if it might help, but no it did not.
