What is "global_cfg.zip" and what it does?

The global_cfg file have purpose for iGO Primo and Becker, and newer editions.
The global_cfg.zip contains the main information specific to each country as permitted speed, flag, warning signs, TMC, icons and other useful information ...

How to check your version?
In windows environment click on the file with the right mouse and make open with windows explorer as shown in the pictures:

Always use the latest available release. If you use the old one, you will not be able to see recent signs, warnings, etc. in the new map editions.

Is it possible to remove all the countryinfo from the list of countries I don't need from global.cfg.zip ?

Why delete ? See above. The list is so long. I don,t need country info of the whole world.
When I want info about let's say Switzerland I need to scroll down from albanië through the whole list.
Not really nessesary.
It should be possible , searching everywhere in the files but cannot find it.

Then look in the country_info.ini
Here you will find the information you are looking for, but the countries named with shortcuts. The explanation of the shortcuts can be found in the countries.txt

Hello

Why want to delete countries ?

In both cases Primo and Nextgen you have the possibility to search by country name !
How will the program react if you delete items, in text files ?
We must not forget that each country is associated with an image of its flag !

Yes, you are right about the seach of course.
I thought it would slow down the program, less is better, but I think I will leave it as it is.

igo world, pongo skin:
I have replaced the default global_cfg by the 'modified', but can't see any changes.
I am sure it is loaded, as when I remove it I get a file not found error.
I was expecting updated speed and DA icons during navigation.
Did I miss something ?
