Well, I do not agree with you
My standalone navi is left from my steering wheel. I am right-handed, but perfectly operate with it with my left.
I tested several version of NG iGo with skins and I found all are perfectly designed for right side driver. That means the menu button and quick menu button are on the right side and trip computer, progress bar and turn sign are on the left side. For phone or tablet, it doesn't make big difference. But for car in-dash head unit, it dones't make difference. For left side drivers, to touch menu or quick menu, driver's arm needs to reach longer distance and it is not safe while driving.
Anybody know is there such skin that menu button is on the left side and trip computer, progress bar are the right side?

If this would make any sense, that left-right option would be integrated in application by default, without any skin.
And this option does not have any navigation system, as much as I know.
If so, then radio and other devices should be "mirrored" too.
NO THANKS POSTS ALLOWED, NO LIKES NEEDED, ALL MIRRORS APPRECIATED
The idea is to let those most often used buttons located closer to user and those for display or less used buttons located at far place. That's it.
But the difference is not two feet
When you put your hand in front of the device (center), you move your finger a little left or a little to the right to touch desired button.
I really do not see the point of this.
However, such a skin does not exist (as far as I know), if you want it, you have to make it yourself or ask the creators.

I did this a while back, I like the menu button and side-list buttons to be on the left so right-handed people can just use a thumb to hit it when holding the device with right hand.
For left-handed people I would imagine that other info such as diricon, alert, speed, datafields, etc... should be on the right (I don't know how left-handed people process visual placement and ordering)
The hack was for android NextGen Gift (9.18.27.687519) and it's incomplete/limited (didn't have a chance to finished it), if you want to try it out, PM me.

Do not PM me with questions. That's what a forum is for.
Thanks freund , yes, this is what I am looking for. Coud you provide more info about it, version or skin?
For device with portrait viewing, the difference may be not that big. However, for landscape view device, for example, my 10 inch in dash unit, the width is approx 9 in, buttons at left or right side does make difference. Below picture will show the difference.
Spoiler: picture

Well, yes, there are differences in such large devices
BUT, the rules of safe driving. If you want to tweak something do not do this while driving. Stop it. Then it is not so important whether the left or right buttons.
