Hi, assuming you are using WinCE there are a couple of lines you can add to the sys.txt file to make the programme close when power is turned off and resume where you left off when power is restored. Will this provide what you need?
PS: these settings might also work for some versions of android but I haven't tried.

iGO applications have built-in options for for such cases
However, "the problem" is not in iGO, but in the system launcher. When the software and UI work together nicely, when stopping it asks you if you want it to turn off or "sleep"
sorry i didn't explain enough, just want to hit a pause button so if i go off the trip route looking for gas/food the gps doesn't keep rerouting as its annoying and dont want to exit route just pause , appreciate any help
normally there are several modes of output of the program with an adapted menu that can be controlled from the sys.txt.
-prevent outright closure
[interface]
show_exit=0
-Output menu with restart option
[interface]
show_exit=1 ;;default value
-exit menu with suspending button (equivalent to extended standby mode of the program)
[interface]
show_exit=2
in this case igo orderes the apparatus to perform a shutdown equivalent to a press on the extinguishing button, it must be possible to return to the start-up of operation in its operating being waiting for satellite reception.
the use of external skins may cause the disappearance of this operation specific to NNG or not be available depending on the manufacturers of the gps wince

I don't see a sys.txt in any folders. i have in "config" a " sysdrop.txt" and a "syswrap.txt" but don't think this is where i need to be to add a pause in navigation, any help again is appreciated
sys.txt will be in the root folder along with the executable file "***. exe".

I think I understand what you're wanting, just a simple 'Pause Navigation' option to pause the current navigation but leave the program running until you're ready to enable the navigation again.
I've never seen that option in Primo before.
There is no "Pause Navigation" function for sys.txt that I know of either.
The only entries in sys.txt that I know of with 'pause' in them are:
Neither of which will work.Code:Please Login or Register to see the links
And there's nothing I can find in any sys.txt I've saved over the years under [navigation] that alludes to pausing navigation being a reality.
I believe the suggestions others have posted above for the sys.txt entries refer to and are only relevant when shutting down Primo and not for pausing navigation while leaving Primo running.
Possibly in Nextgen there is this option but I've never used Nextgen so I don't know.
It's also possible that somewhere out there there's a skin or UX where someone has created the 'pause navigation' option, though if so I've never seen it.

Do big things!
Moved to 'Discussion' section.
the request is not explicit enough:
- it may mean that it is desired to be able to suspend navigation for time to pause, by turning off the device without a complete restart. <=> show_exit=2
- if the aim is to freeze the navigation as when stationary, it is sufficient to deactivate the reception of the GPS signals
- if the aim is to be able to memorize an itinerary in the course of activity in order to move on, it is sufficient to go in the management of the route and to save it to reload it subsequently.
you should present it with more details as a true story is told.![]()
