I'm a little confused by this. So even though the data.zip only has a 1024x600 directory (and the image files in it are 1024x600) - and the screen itself is 1024x600, Primo actually displays everything in 800x480 (instead of 1024x600)?? Would 800x480 skins work then (I don't have a 1024x600 device - yet). :-)

I'm just not sure I understand how this works - just trying to get a better understanding. I just don't understand why Dynavin would go through the effort of converting everything to 1024x600 if Primo just uses 800x480 anyway...

    @jtrosky
don't be confused...this is for dynavin N7 resolution 1024x600 real in Primo!
all .bmp , all templetes are for 1024x600! also junction .bmp files!

this primo not convert to 1024x600, it use real resolution 800x480!....all .bmp is litele longer thats all!

skin 800x480 not run to dynavin 7....
    I think only N6 dynavin use 800x480!

Ok ,thanks - so just to clarify, on the Dynavin N7, it actually *does* run in "real" 1024x600 resolution? If so, that's cool that it gets some extra resolution, but it kind of sucks that you can't use any skins (since most are made for 800x480)... Not sure the extra resolution is worth it in this case.

Sorry to bring this back up again, but I've been unable to find a way to run Primo 2.4 on WinCE in 800x480 mode on a device with a 1024x600 resolution screen. From the earlier posts, it almost sounded like *most* 1024x600 resolution WinCE units somehow run in 800x480 mode. Is that the case? If so, does anyone know how to make it work? I've read a lot about multimode.ini and some sys.txt entries, but just haven't been able to make it work.

Any input would be appreciated. I'm not interested in running NextGen and I really woud rather not run in native 1024x600 mode (which I *can* do). The problem is that all of the skins and mods that I've come to like won't run in 1024x600 mode - and it's a LOT of work to try and convert them all to 1024x600. I'd rather just have Primo "stretch" the 800x480 stuff to 1024x600 if thats somehow possible.

My testing has been with 9.6.13.405512 - and I'd rather stay with that version if possible. But if I need to use another version to get 800x480 mode on a 1024x600 WinCE device, then I will...

    Thank you in advance!

it would be nice to beable to do that. i’m on restolutuon 1024 by 600 with igo and been struggling trying to get some mods to work. i am able to get a skin running but then it will start to do a picture and picture thing and can’t see allotnof things on screen.

We do have another option... There are some really talented people on this forum - so maybe we'll just pay someone to update the "Decent" skin to run in 1024x600 (as well as a few other UX mods we use!). I can probably even do some of the UX conversions, but converting the Decent skin is probably above my skill level at this point (but I like learning, so you never know). There may not even be *that* much involved - I honestly don't know for sure.

I have the Dynavin N7 now, but I ran into an issue and am waiting for a replacement right now. But I'll eventually get more involved with the N7 and it's 1024x600 resolution - I've gotten way too used to the Decent skin and a bunch of UX's to be happy with the stock Primo interface. :-)

I was just hoping there might be an "easy" way to get 800x480 stuff to automatically "upscale" to 1024x600...

Main problem when creating/changing skin is you must have device or emulator to test and adapt.
Big problem is that no one emulator works with that res and devices are quite rare. And it does not matter how big the skin is, it's quite a big job, unfortunately.

I tried to adapt a few skins for a smaller resolution, it turns out that I do not have time for all.
There should be a couple of people with good will and with a lot of free time...

Maybe, easier job would be for you to find the appropriate android skin and adapt it to WinCE.
