I think your GPS antenna is displaced or not optimally placed in the first place. Check on how many satellites are you locked during navigation.
Hello,
First of all sorry for the very long and repetitive thread title. While using Igo Primo 9.6.13.405512 in my double din car unit (256MB RAM and 800 MHz CPU) without any extras (dem, tts, ux, skin) I noticed a delay in voice guidance.
When I approach a junction Primo says "After 50m, turn right", but actually there is 20m distance between me and the junction. My position on the map is also a bit back of my actual position. Roughly there is an offset of 25m. When I reach the juction and stop, the position info on the map is totally correct. My speed is aroun 50 km/h by the way. The problem is apparent in city driving but do not bother in highway while I'm over 100 km/h.
In some forums I saw a paramater under [gps] section, "delay". Typical values are 100, 250, 500 ms I think. Has anybody had a chance of practical test of this parameter? Or have any ideas about this GPS lag?
Thanks in advance.
As an extra info, I also tested Mireo Don't Panic on the same hardware but the lag is obviously less than Igo Primo.

Thanks for the reply Janch. The GPS fix is quite fast, the signal never lost even while going under short tunnels and I've never seen "Looking for GPS signal" message, altitude info is also very correct. Another software -Mireo Don't Panic- is better regarding this delay issue. So, I don't think it is related to antenna. Somehow primo is a little bit late on GPS signal processing. I use same com port (1) and baud rate (38400) in both software.
That is delay between unit and voice, when it shows the correct position on the screen.
The device is late with pronunciation, with a delay of a few seconds. I've already seen that, but I have no idea why this is happening.
Maybe it's possible to set it in sys file.
Post your here, under spoiler.
There is also the possibility of disagreements between device (launcher, UI...) and the software.
What package are you using? Also, what maps?

Thanks for the quick reply Boki.
As you said, this looks like a delay between the unit and the voice. There is also a delay on the map, but not that much. My sys file is as following:
Spoiler: content of sys.txt
I haven't noticed any visual or coherent working inconsistency between launcher and the primo.
Currently I'm using the edition "iGO Primo 2.4 v.9.6.13.405512 - Honda Civic Reborn", the one you posted. No dem, no tts, no ux, no skin, single Turkish voice file, single Turkish language file, no buildings, no branding, no speedcam, no basemap, B a s a rsoft Turkey Map and POI file, latest global_cfg, minimum license pack. As following:
Spoiler: file/folder structure
My first thought is that maybe Igo is a little bit late to process GPS output data, so I can advance GPS data by using "delay" switch i.e. 500ms away, this way Igo thinks incoming data is late around 500ms, so internally correct it by using proper offset.

Not related directly to your problem, but...
minimal license set for Civic version is one (1) licenseAny.
I'll check documentation I have, and see if there is some solution.
P.S. Just for testing, try some NG version. "Toyota" for example.
Generally speaking I try to keep my license folder at minimum most of the time, but there are people who have over 100 licenses, I guess they are travel around all the World.
In the past I tried NG, but it was a challenging task to bring up a working NG for Turkey and when I tried it on the unit it was super slow and sluggish, the interface was very dark and useless for me, so I'd rather prefer to stay in Primo. But as you directed, I will try "Toyota NG" version just to be sure about the issue.
Thx
add this line to sys and check again..

Hi,
I would not recommend any "dedicated" or "skinned" version of NG.
I think that it would be best to go with "clean" [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] or [Only registered and activated users can see links. ], as they are known as most complete and stable without any modification, and don't need any additional licenses.
I tested first one on many different, even third class devices and it is working like "Swiss watch"
Later you can add any skin you like.

I'm going to try that, do I have to delete save folder before trying? And, can you please explain what this switch actually does? By which way do this switch improve the delay? Thx
Midnight, these versions are for Android I think, am I wrong? Thx for your attention. As I stated earlier, I'll just give a try to NG for the repetition of the problem, generally I don't like it. Just now I'm compiling a package based on Toyota NG (Boki's post) and runs fine without maps so far in emulator. I changed emulator settings to third class device and still seems like solid. Thx again, If I fail, I'll try these versions![]()
