The kit you have is made to get launching shortcut on PDA main screen devices.
Inside of iGO8 folder you should find a file called "application.dat".
Rename it into iGO8.exe and tun the application.
I downloaded Igo 8 and I don't see an .EXE file to associate my navigation icon with. I've be goofing around with other shareware/freeware and they all have an application executable file that i can use. The download has 3 file folders (2577, Igo 2008, & Igo8. None contain a Igo.exe or anything simialr.) Not sure how to proceed... Thanks.

Enjoy,

2557 folder is used for PDA installation (Win Mobile, not WinCe)
I think that IGO8 version you have downloaded, is the old 8 version (not 8.3.x version), no more upgradeable with any map !
Spoiler: iGO8
Spoiler: iGO8.3.x

The 2577 folder is used to install iGO (and any other program?) on WinCE devices. Of those, there are 2 kinds: PNA (Personal Navigation Assistent) and PDA (Personal Digital Assistent). The latter have developed into smartphones.
One can either copy the folders to a blank SD, put it in the device and start the device. If the device is capable of handling this method (all PDA on WinCE are), it will install iGO. I know, I had a few PDA (HP iPaq, Mio, ...)
PNA won't install iGO that way.
The other way of installing is to rename the application.dat, as DII pointed out.
And there some 8.3.2 builds that are so called official PDA builds: like 8.3.2.152657 and 8.3.2.138649. I am even sure there are more. And I think (not sure) a 8.3.4 for PDA exists.
A remark, most cracked builds (or all?) are capable to run on PNA and PDA, as the list of Maury22 shows, but PDA capable is not exactly the same as an official PDA build.
Yes, looks like I was using the wrong version for my Win CE unit. I found and installed igo.primo.2.4.9.6.13.267029.wince from gpspower.net and it's loading fine on the "Rage" unit.
