When I am in my car I use my GPS from my car (TomTom map ) with real time traffic but outside for walking, especially in foreigners countries, I use the “organic map” app on my phone. I really enjoy this app.
You just have to download maps before your trip; no need to use data from your cellphone !
Many PI located ( restaurants, car parks, spots… ). Awesome !

A long time ago (in the last millennium) I was driving, my wife used a paper map to navigate me. When her eyesight started to deteriorate, we argued a lot because she couldn't find the place on the map and pointed me in the wrong direction. I was forced to buy a PDA with iGO. Since then I always use iGO. Now on my phone.

no system is 100% perfect so I often use wince or garmin pda combined via smartphone. I have galaxy a55 connected to garmin via bluetooth so it receives traffic information. sometimes road works can be avoided so better to have onboard internet connection. Igo nextgen is now my favourite for longer trips. primo is fine too. havent tested the world version myself will try it soon cause they say it works on 64bit new android .. :1:
