Hi !

I have been playing with my new toy, and when I put a second .IMG file called GMAPSUP2.IMG then
the unit turn it self off when the message "Loading maps..." is shown during boot.

According to the PDF manual I should be able to force the Rino 650 Nordic into "USB Mass Storage Mode" by
pressing and holding the power button for 30 seconds (or more) until it goes into mass storage mode. Well
this didn't work at all. :-(

This is what I did to solve my problem :

1) Download the latest (and newest) firmware from Garmin. (NordicRino650_WebUpdater__240.gcd)
Download the latest RGN tool (RGN_Tool_V084.zip)
Download the latest GarminCure3 (GarminCure3.zip version 0.1)

2) Not being able to get my Rino 650 into USB Mass Storage Mode, so I decide to patch the firmware to default go into mass storage mode.

Load the firmware file into the GarminCure3 and make a cure firmware file (150601000240.rgn). Not able to start the Updater.exe from
the GarminCure3, so I open up a Ms-Dos window and type the command "Updater 150601000240.rgn". The updater program starts and I
choose "USB Device", then power on and hold in the power button until the "Updater" program detects my Rino 650. Then click on the next,etc..
until the firmware it transfered to the Rino 650.

3) Power on the Rino 650 and connect the device to PC and you should see it as a storage disc on your pc. Open up the "Windows Explorer" and find the
Garmin directory and the right click and choose properties. You should remove the Read-Only attributes, then I was able to permantly remove
the problem file called "GMAPSUP2.IMG". Remember to change the attributes back to Read-Only before you turn off the unit.

4) Power off & and On one more time to verify that the problem file is removed.

5) Use the RGN tool to convert the NordicRino650_WebUpdater__240.gcd to NordicRino650_WebUpdater__240.rgn. And again open up a MS-Dos window and
start the command "Updater NordicRino650_WebUpdater__240.rgn". Power on the Rino 650 and hold the power button inn until the unit is recognized in the Updater
and start the flash process.

6) Now you should be able to power on and use the Rino 650 Nordic as normal.

Hope that this information can help other Rino 650 Nordic owners to solve the same problem as I had.
