Thread: how to clear trip log on nuvi 40?

There are options to Show or Hide this info, but unfortunately (unlike on other nuvis) there appears to be no way to clear the trip log short of a hard reset! Perhaps this is just an oversight that will be fixed in an upcoming firmware update

Trip logs are stored in GPX folder

Nuvi\.system\trips
This is for trip planner files.

Probably it's the only way, but may be some user can give us feedback. If you test deleting GPX files, post results please

You can try to find if you have this feature to clear data in:tools/My Data/clear trip log
In FW this feature is enabled
Do you update your FW to 2.30?

yes, i had already update for FW 2.3 yesterday night , but it don´t show me " my data" to clear trip log

i had deleted the file gpx ( current gpx) and it´s not working , so i think the only way for this moment is master/hard reset , but i would not to do this weekly because only to think it could cause crash to internal memory/system ; i will turn OFF the register trip log , but in my opinion , it's means to be lost one of the interesting feature garmin device...thank very very much to help :anim1):

Master/hard reset will do only three thing what you can see.
The first. It deletes all waypoints and tracks that you can see in device in current.gpx. So if you are interesting for reservation of waypoints you must make copy for restoring!
The second. It restores all settings to default. You must make you favourite preference settings again!
The third! It erases all last results for searching in Goto and predicative promptings for its.

And forth for desert! After Master/hard reset all Garmin device merely work better then before it. Trust to my experience!
