I am use another unit for updating maps in old unit. It is GPSMAP276C and it have USB port
Items to research before you upgrade.
1. How much memory will the firmware support?
2. Will the unit support city navigator North America NT maps?
3. Can the processor (CPU) support the new larger size maps?
The video will show how to upgrade the GPSMAP 295.
1. The firmware will only support 128MB memory data card
2. The GPS unit is non-routing, I used MetroGuide North America v8
and Mexico GPS Atlas 2011 v6.1 maps.
3. Due to the larger size maps, this causes a problem on cloudy day,
as a result, there is a delay in updating the maps.

These old GPS units can still be used and updated.
A list of maps that can be used in older Garmin
StreetPilots and GPSMAP.
1. MetroGuide v8 2008
2. City Navigator North America 2009 (NON-NT)
3. Mexico GPS Atlas 2011 v6.1
When using MapSource software to upload maps to GPS unit,
Select Include route calculation data
(Recommended if your GPS Supports auto-routing)
