This is from a quote that was posted 5 years ago.
"Have you made any significant change in you location between rides?? (e.g. several hundred miles).
To speed up getting a satellite lock the Edge caches information about the satellites it last used, an almanac. If you make a big change in location then this cached information can actually make the first satellite lock in the new location slower as it tries to find the old satellites first before giving up on that and building in a new cache.
There is a way you view what the satellite search is doing, which might give you some idea of what is happening.
Briefly press the power button with the Edge on so that the Edge brings up the brightness page
Go to the “Set Brightness” page, and hold down on the lap key for around 5 seconds.
This will bring up a new page containing
Diagnostics
View Satellites
GPS Simulator
Select "View Satellites" it will show what satellite numbers it currently searching for and their relative signal strength. Make sure to do this in the open with a go clear view of the sky and see what happens."

Hello, I have been looking at the version of the system (I have the latest one) and it takes a long time to catch the satellites. With the firmware update I CANNOT make the reception of satellites faster.

@kitos
Try resetting it if you haven't already. From my recollection on GPSMAP 4xx/5xx it's Home Screen>Configure>System>System Information>Factory Setting. Back up history/favourites data first though if you want to restore later.
You can try to test a device with an external antenna. If this test will give you a positive result you must repair an internal antenna. The mounting of the internal antenna on such devices is often broken due to vibration. The more quick test is to shake and listenUsually fix of the antenna on its place resolved such problem for me.
If the external antenna will not give the result probably modern GPS enhancement is not good for the old receiver.
Garmin, how much is 30 pieces of silver for Judas today? Were they worthy for crucifix of GPSPower?
