What version of windows do you have on this Pc that you try to repair nuvi?
If you work on win 8 or 10, try on pc with XP or Win 7.
Win 7. Tried with win xp but no luck so far. Memory chip is screwed probably. It doesn't allow any write or modify operation.
By "Look ok" i guess you mean it looks the same as what you saw in MSM originally with gibberish folders and files.
"He's dead Jim". You could try to delete all the folders and files individually using SD text commands, e.g.: "del,0:/.Sy&t%m" [probably, or maybe del,0:/.Sy&t%m/], and "del,0:/n*vi_d3iv!.ico" or whatever screwed up folder/file name is shown, or better still try deleting the entire directory [not sure if you'd need "del,0:/" or "del,0:" for that] but even if you succeed it's highly unlikely it'll then boot anyway without a proper reformat. It seems conclusive that 41 is also badly messed up so you'd also have to erase that but if 48 won't erase with ergn command then probably neither will 41. If you have an old backup of 41 then just try to write to it back with xrgn. If you manage to simply erase it you'll lose model number and all registration and unlock codes but the unit might just boot if no other regions are corrupted and you can eventually reformat the file system and all that is pretty unlikely to work if the chip's damaged. I doubt you can damage it more by trying what i've suggested, if it was mine i'd chuck everything at it but i don't wish to be seen to encourage you blindly on this ['cos that's what i'm doing, it's blind leading the blind but none of that will probably work anyway].

Definitely it's dead. Memory chip is stuck in some read-only state because it doesn't allow any write, delete or modify operation. Going to scrap it for parts, at least the battery is worth something.
Oh well, c'est la vie! At least you tried. The screen's worth the most, more than the battery.
