My device is a Nuvi 57LM with HWID 2087 and SW version 430
I think to have followed the backup procedure and received the log file:
nüvi 57 Software Version 4.30, UID: 390850xxxx, HWID: 390850xxxx
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Parsing "rrgn,154,2:/154.bin"
Success
Parsing "reboot"
The file in the root of the SD card is 2048KB
However, the file name is 154.bin instead of 154.backup.bin
Is this a problem?

You can restore model number , but I dont think you can restore maps codes, at least I dont know how to do it , but it doesnt affects anything in MyGarmin page ,you can redownload your map, np.
Np for LT updates too. If you need help to restore model n ,send me a pm.
You have to navigate to get to the good.

please VitusOld how did you manage to restore your model number i am in the same situation ,i tried to restore my saved backup many times but no success so far ,i was despered to cure my nuvi till i came across your post so please send me the procedure
