Dear Aekhong,
What do u mean with recheck folders??
&can u tell me how to??
Thanks for consideration Bro.
Hany
Do you have a backup of files in the Nuvi before you put in the corrupt map?
You can restore these files.
Check if you have a basemap loaded gmapbmap.img ? Timezone Map gmaptz.img ? Have you had a good satelite fix ?
Please tell us what got it out of the "could not select region problem", Forum works both ways.
Problem Solved Guys.....Just I had to re-run map updater one more time..it turns out to be a map missing..
Now working like a sharm..
Here R My Tips For: Corrupted map uploaded or Loading maps screen or GIR version mismatch or select a locale screen.
1st- you have to get GUPDATE.GCD file. if you have it in your backup(it's great) if not you can get it from here
([Only registered and activated users can see links. ])
chose your gupdate.gcd version and download.
2nd-you need to have 2 more tools: a) Garmin cure3 get it from here too
( [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] )
b) updater 2.8.0 or later -if available- from here: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
3rd-We are now ready to make cure firmware:
-Open Garmin cure3 > drag the downloaded Gupdate.gcd (downloaded or if u had one b4) into blank rectangle.[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
-Now Chose Cure Option > press make Firmware > the dialogue box will say process is ok.
-U can find the cure firmware.rgn in a new folder next to Garmincure3.exe or u can simply drag it back from the rectangle.
-rename it cure firmware.rgn
-Drag the same gcd file again to garmin cure3 but this time chose original and creat normal rgn firmware.
-now Drag cure firmware to updater.exe > it will start > chose USB device. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]
4th: Flash the cure firmware to ur 37xx:
-Connect the USB between the pc and garmin (powered off)
-Device will start > once u see garmin logo > Touch & hold upper left corner till a green (system) flashes.
-U shall see the device name in the updater.exe> press ok in updater.exe with ur finger still touching the upper left corner.
-now u shall see system loading or loader > remove ur finger now and wait till the device reboots and recognize it > if u know what hangs ur gps > delete it then flash ur normal created firmware to updater and repeat the same steps.
-if your device does not work normally?!!
5th- then we need to make a FAT32 format for the device after flashing the cure firmware (in mass storage mode)
-After flashing cure fw and in mass storage device > right click on garmin driver > format > FAT32 >leave it for about 5 min till it finish formatting.
-now you can flash the normal created rgn file through the updater or u can simply use downgraded gcd (4.8 instead my current 4.9 for example)from ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]) dont forget to convert it to rgn using RGN tool or Garmin cure3 but select original option.
-Flash fw the same way b4 (touch n hold upper left corner till system flashes......)
-now ur device will reboot and go to normal usb mode with the usb logo.
6th Go to mapupdater from garmin and run it to have ur original map installed.
-it will ask u to update the software > accept > then get ur maps.
-u can go through webupdater as well.
-u may need to run map updater one more time if u have any issues with ur maps.
7Th: make a fresh backup for future use and enjoy ur gps.
Thanks to CATY and all friends..
Hany-Oman
please Caty,
allow my attachement screen shots..
they are very helpfull..
Hany.
Note by Caty: your screen is displayed correctly
Sorry, no need to do Format.!!
In fact, I fixed a lot of Nuvi without format.

Actually, I've seen devices that couldn't be fixed without formatting (moreover, without proper formatting with HMPREPUSB).
And GarminCure3 topic mentions formatting as a last resort.
But in the case of corrupted map formatting is not necessary, of course.
