Hi guys,
Hi guys I have Garmin Nuvi 2495 LM and the following problem.
A friend of mine tried to install a map and after copying the gmapsupp he maybe deleted something i don't know, but : THE DEVICE does not want to start up. No access to the memory card at all. After starting...
It starts with Garmin Logo, Says Loading Maps.... and then reboots when connected to cable or shut down when not connected to cable. I have no way to boot the device or to access the internal memory ?
I have tried to hold the left corner top and enter into some screen calibration mode. Afterwards i was able to see the device in Webupdater and then the device disappeared again. I have tried using Webupdater to fix the device but it didn't detect it. After I enter in calibration mode by pressing top left the webupdater detects the device but the screen shuts down after a while and i am unable to proceed with update. What to do ? Is there any way to update the firmware from SD Card ? I guess that it hangs on loading maps reading the internal memory and will not go to loading maps from SD card at all....

The Unit seems to Enter in PreBoot mode. However when I try creating gcd file with Garmin Cure, it works , but Updater.exe says - There is no newer version for your product and does nothing.... How to fix that issue with There is no newer version for your product ?
try to rename it to a different number, bigger than the one of the firmware you were running
You have to navigate to get to the good.
Galaxy S5 Kitkat 4.4.2 / Nuvi1200->1250 / Nuvi3790T->34xx / Nuvi 2200 / Nuvi 66 / Oregon 600
In preboot mode you should be able to reload the same version.
You need to get a "known" good GUPDATE.GCD for your device.
Use this to make cure using Garmincure3.
Once GarminCure3 is successfully loaded do not disconnect device from usb it should reboot in flash drive mode.
You need to get into the filesystem in order to delete the map file that your friend copied to your device. You also need to delete the GUPDATE.GCD file in the device.
Next you need to make Original firmware with Garmincure3 and reflash.
I don't know if Garmincure3 has been tested on 2495.
Maybe someone can confirm.
Make sure that your garmin drivers are up to date.
