No. This is very hard modification.
May be it's a stupid question but I try the same.
I own a Oregon 400T and I often use the compass to navigate the tracks specially with the screen in the custom mode with compass in the upper part. I use this setting for mtbiking and I found the smalland thin red arrow of the compass is hardly readable in most of the situations, specially in downhill (obviously) but not only.
Garmin has solved the problem in the next 450/550 series in which the thin arrow has been replaced with a much more eyecatching and bigger arrow in triangle shape.
My question is: is there any chance to modify the software of my Oregon 400 (last updated) to get the same compass dislayed on 450/550?
many thanks for any kind of reply.
P.s. I know that I can also navigate the tracks with the compass at full screen in which also the thinner arrow would be more visible but I prefer (and often need) to have also the track on the display

Maybe it's not that hard, but barely anyone on this forum has enough free time and skills to help you. Try asking on gpspassion.com, there are a few good modders there

Nice comment, I guess you know our registered members list
You have to navigate to get to the good.

I've never seen anyone doing such patches here, and I've seen it on gpspassion.com. So my comment is reasonable to some extent. And it's not harmful
Thanks anyhow. Being not an expert I had no idea if this was even a serious question. At least, now I know that nothing is impossible for some people here. So, everybody agrees if I try with gpspassion.com?
