pin Nuvi 12xx,13xx,14xx,16xx with "software missing" on first step of flashing process

A few days ago, I finally get a new 1410 with this known problem.
    Symptoms:
The device can not be flashed with the correct firmware - after "Loader loading" just appears "System Software missing". Also, device can not be flashed from SD card. Erasing the memory with the command ergn not work.
    Reason:
The main memory chip physically cannot recording.
    Solution:
Just replace the memory chips on the same from Nuvi 205/205w/500/1200/1300/1400.

If you change string in boot.bin from kunix solution nuvi can read from SD card from update.txt
If you flash with 2.bin nuvi change ID when you read with tool go7win becouse read xml from folder Garmin where is diferent ID of nuvi.
So this mean that flash is posible but some other region prevent to turn on nuvi,we must find what region is show this software missing.
Maybe is region 91 i dont know i will try all posible solution.

    p.s.
    No luck.
If is region changed with update.txt after restarting nuvi is all the same like before flashing.
What will be if i erase region 5?
    Anybody know?

    hi bpb,
I tested the command, it succeed erased the region 5 and also succeed to write the Region 5, see below.

Report on one Nuvi 255W was killed.

I did back up 2 Nuvi 255W all the region, which same HWID 827.
attempt to erase the region 5 and write back the region 5 which from other Nuvi 255w,
    command as below:
    ergn,5
    rrgn,5,1:/region_5.bin
    reboot

    update.log
    Parsing "ergn,5"
    Success
    Parsing "rrgn,5,1:/region_5.bin"
    Success
    Parsing "reboot"
    Success

Nothing change, but once I switched off the Nuvi, it's dead, no power on, even connect with Garmin charger or USB cable connect to PC, still no Power on,
May be can announce that "it's Dead", Sorry for hear that.

If you want to WRITE region 5 from other Nuvi you must use xrgn instead of rrgn:
    ergn,5
    xrgn,5,1:/region_5.bin
    reboot
BTW ergn,5 it's not obligatory. By xrgn,5,1:/region_5.bin you will overwrite the region 5.

Very interesting and useful information. So...Anyone tried to replace a memory chip of nuvi 1xxx? How do you divide the new memory into the proper regions and record the info to them? Do we need a programmer for that? What memories are compatible? What tools are you using? Many questions...
