I'm having accuracy issues with the GPS after conversion. Many times the unit will think I am on a different street, or jump during navigation. When I put it side by side with an unmodified 3760, the accuracy is ALWAYS worse than with the original 3760 firmware. Even when I compare this unit to an older nuvi 465t, the accuracy reading is always worse. I think this is a real problem.

I remember reading that the conversion process does not update the GPS chipset firmware. Could this possibly be fixed?

Is there anyway to update the GPS chipset firmware?

I think this problem does not apply to accuracy of GPS. It is problem of software. In 3490 SW changed algorithm of attaching a cursor to the road (averaging the real position and map coordinates - by another words). No secret what roads on map not always corresponds to the real position. Conclusion is based on the fact what all Nuvi 3490 (unmodified!!!) get far more errors when navigating or calculating route on not sufficiently precise maps then other models of Nuvi. May be Garmin thinks what all maps for this device are also perfect as this Nuvi by default
Garmin, how much is 30 pieces of silver for Judas today? Were they worthy for crucifix of GPSPower?
