Hello Catymag,

When I use CN_NorthAmerica_NT_2010.2_Unlocked with mapsource (version 6.15.6) the "Find places" option in "Find" menu become inactive!

It was a GMAPSUPP.IMG file format. I used GMapTool to install the map in mapsource

if you unlocked 2010.20 with garminunlocker without first running reverse converter-
then you have removed the search(no find) and routing data---use keygen v1.5

if you move a gmapsupp.img into mapsource you will remove the basemap and routing data---you will need to zoom way in to see the detailed map---don't do that--

But what is the proper procedure? for __basemap/gmapbmap.img and __qsi /gmapsupp.img ? Is there a guide ?
I tried to use reverseconverter. but it said folder doesn't contain convertable maps. And in what Caty replied, it seems that I have to do it with a Garmin terminal. How can i do it with a computer only, and make these maps available to a mobile phone?

Hi,

As I understand You want to convert NT map to Non NT format which You can convert to We-Travel format map With MapGenerator supplied from WT developer.

With MapReverseConverter You can convert map to be used with older 6.13.7 version of MapSource, but You will NOT get fully Non NT compatible map which can afterward be converted with MapGenerator to We-Travel format.

For conversion to We-Travel format You have to use NATIVE Non NT maps.

this is the procedure
1. Run the GMapTool.exe
2. Hit "Add Files" and add the "gmapprom.img" file
2.5. Under the "options" tab tell it the location of cgpsmapper.exe
3. Click on "Split" at the top.
4. Select the directory where you want to save it
5. Make sure that "Create" is set to "files for mapsource"
6. Make sure there is a tick in "compile map preview"
7. Mapset name is "xxxxxxxxxx"
8. Tick "set mapset FID"
9. FID is xxx and PID is x
10. Click on "split all".
11. Wait until it is done, should take a couple of minutes.
12. Close GmapTool.exe
13. Open the directory from step 4.
14. Locate install.bat and run it.
15. That should be all you need to do to install xxxxxxx map into mapsource.

Hi catymag

Another question.

I tried to install Garmin City Navigator China v7.5 QSI, ENG - Mapsource Version
in this post

But after the installation, in Mapsource the map is blank, I also tried use mapset tool , still blank map in mapsource.

My OS is WINXP Pro English version.

I' not sure if this is because my english OS or because the map.

Sorry for ask another question, and thank you so much for the help.
