Do not run the executable archive after downloading, instead use 7zip/Winrar/Winzip etc to open the archive and extract the contents. The required files will be found in the MapData folder. Use gimgunlock [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] to unlock the map

Routing in MapSource is not on road and is offset every time the map is shifted: I tried converting (Splitting) this map to a MapSource version by using GMapTool v 8.67.594b. This method has worked OK in the past but for this India map I get a weird effect in MapSource. If I use the Route tool the route is drawn but does not lay on the road at all although the overall shape of the route is correct. It's off the road by varying amounts 10 to 50 metres.
If I try shifting the map on the computer page the route offset also changes, sometimes to the other side of the road. Tracks, if hand drawn on the map, do the same thing, as soon as the map is shifted the track shifts off the road but maintains the same overall shape.
Attached are 2 screen shots showing the freshly drawn route (the picture on the right) and then the route when shifted to the left hand side of the computer screen (the picture on the left). Recalculating the route does not help. I've never seen this effect before so any help would be appreciated. The same thing happens on a friends computer on which he used JaVaWa GMTK to Backup / Restore my map to his PC.
The reason we'd like a MapSource version is to help plan a lengthy vehicle tour in India. Another way of getting the MapSource version installed properly is to purchase the likes of a Nuvi 50LM India and during the map update process use the option to install to computer as well. I see several vendors on-line, does anyone have any recommendations for one that will dispatch quickly, preferably via FedEx? Thank you.
About MS failures in displaying correctly some City Navigators maps and some map tiles ,developer Falagar on Garmin forum many times gave advice not to use Mapsource with City Navigators anymore because it's obsolete:
It's fine to use MapSource if you want, but do so at your own risk. I want to point out that the image creation code in MapSource is very dated. It might or might not work properly on the device. They have been dozens of fixes since MapSource 6.16.3 was released.
Not only in devices, users discovered problems in maps on pc too using MS. We are forced actually to use Basecamp and Mapinstall : about transfer of imgs in Nuvis:
MapInstall should also be faster in image creation and transfer (depending on the type of map and device) because of performance improvements we made. MapInstall supports nMaps (more than one supplemental map), without having to manually rename gmapsupp.img. So the official recommendation is to use MapInstall, not MapSource. If something is wrong with a map on a device (mainly with routing) and you created the image with MapSource, I'd try again with MapInstall to at least eliminate one possible point of failure
Thank you for the quick reply, I should have noted that the same offset route / offset track problem occurs in BaseCamp too. It happened with the previous version 2013.1 (the first time I'd tried CN India) but did not happen with the CN Russia map for which I'd used the same splitting method.
