2.) Does that program "completely" unlock the mapset (removing also the gma authentication feature)? Or do I still need to run Fast IMG unlocker after sending it to my device using patched Mapsource 6.16.3?

JM shouldnt work coz fid is greater than 2200, you can try FIU, but probably the result will be the same with every unlocker.

Ok. Do you have any clue why this issue is happening to many users?

So far people who have posted street numbers functionality have not told us how they unlocked their maps. But seeing from the versions of RG they are using it seems they are contributors as they have newer versions than 1.24 with the exception of vortex so this probably explains it.

Also agree RG is much better than OSM but it's a good alternative or backup/supplement to RG. There have been places/streets/names in the provinces not mapped on RG but available on OSM and vice versa. When I go to provinces I tend to use both/alternate depending on the area, in the main cities I just use RG exclusively as it has better routing.

That's one more thing to consider. They seem to have access to the contributor maps easily. All along I thought unlocking mapsets don't have any effect to the features of that map itself.

Ok to sum up~ iPAQ2494 was the first to post a unlocked img file, a few posts later people were complaining about no search meaning he used garminunlocker by mistake.
Then cutie came along in post# 19 and offered a locked mapsource version and suggested we use MS v6.15.7 ? ... post# 20, catymag (with own mirrors) suggested we install the RG.exe, drop the unlocker in the same folder and run it. After that before you export to your device, catymag said to change the typ file using gmaptool then paste the modified img in your device.

Post# 25 someone claiming to follow all the above instructions said still no address search, post #26 catymag said address function working! but said to download from post# 19 not his own mirrors? Admin im confused was the address search function error we are now talking about working for you way back in May?

Seems we need another 1.24 unlocked MS version other than cutie's, or better yet v1.25... dong/warfab, this community needs a solution and maybe you could help?? someone must be able to bring smiles to everyone here in this crap world full of hate and greed.

maps links in post 19 and 20 concern the same Mapsource original version unlocked 1.24 ( In post 20 are just mirrors) and search with unlocked map with mapset unlocker works as you can see here

Although the search seems to not display "house numbers". Could this be because of the locked Mapset or the unlocker program?

maybe antivirus has effect on this. sometimes my map downloads are incomplete when its enable. i normally disable my antivirus when downloading maps.

I highly doubt that it's the Antivirus that's causing the problems. I'm using Windows Security Essentials and never had a problem with any download. You could even check the compare the checksum of your files if you're in doubt.
