    Thumbs up RE: Thai_Narisa.vpm (TTS)

    @Tzidogang

    You can download the file from Garmin. Make sure that you have a Garmin GPS model and firmware that supports the Thai TTS voice.
    Code:
    Please Login or Register to see the links
    Convert to RGN file to VPM file "Thai__Narisa.vpm" by using a HexEditor and delete the first 60 bytes and then save as "Thai__Narisa.vpm".
    It's also possible to use as in point 3b from the code section further down in this text.

    As with most updates at Garmin. Use "View source" in your Web browser and look for the text comment at the top:
    Code:
    Please Login or Register to see the links

    And here's the "Thai__Narisa.vpm" file that I have processed according to the description above (~24 MiB compressed to RAR archive):

    Thai TTS-Narisa was made for Thai unit with specific Thai firmware only.
    For the example., Nuvi 1360TH has a new firmware with Narisa-TTS.
    Nuvi 1460TH can apply this firmware too., but 1460TH user can not download this firmware (It's for 1360TH to acces download pafe only.)
    So 1460TH now can not use Thai TTS-Narisa. !! (even put this sound inside --> No sound )

    It means you have to modified firmware to use Thai-TTS Narisa

    Garmin Thailand always messy around their devices , even some little more capability will eat up you more 30$ like this TTS.
    Try another IGO Primo They'll give you all free!

    I am using Kenwood DNX 9960 (AVN 4.1/5 unit). The Kenwood is from the US. but the Garmin has Thai keyboard in it and be able to search Thai POI. I am not sure exactly what is the region of Garmin Firmware. I would like to use the JCV, 3D and the Thai TTS. What should I do to make it works. So far, I rename the non-TTS Thai voice as the American English_vpm and it speaks. I will try the same method for the Thai TTS today. For the JCV and 3D file, where should I put it? In the unit or in the SD card?
