To Activate Your Iran Routable Map
1- Make a note of your device ID by Mapsource/GPS Utility/Get Unit ID
2- Create one text file in the x:\garmin folder where x is your root disk/sd card caller GMAPSUPP.unl
3- Enter your id code found into jetmouse's keygen ,select your map version and press generate, paste into the gmapsupp.unl file
4- Restart Garmin

I am still waiting for my Garmin to arrive so I haven't seen the map. But here's my question: does this map include backroads in northern Iran and the region around Mount Damavand? I am planning a cycling trip there and need a map that allows me to leave the main road in order to avoid the crazy traffic. Is there any way to view the map on a computer? (Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I am new to GPS navigation) Thank you for your advice!

The downloadable files are .img files... So files to write to a CD/DVD...
Which i tried, but I always get "invalid file"... How do I get around this? I'm writing to TDK dvd+r discs.

It's Garmin IMG-files and not disk images as ordinary ISO/IMG files. The files are ready to be copied to a Garmin GPS as they are. Maybe they need to be renamed (with intact file extension IMG) depending on GPS generation and supported naming convention.
